OUR Founder
Founded in 2017, The Soul Jurnee was born as a passion project to preserve and celebrate soul music. What started as an idea to keep soul music alive has grown into a full-fledged platform dedicated to the culture, history, and future of the genre. Now curated and led by Ukiya Henson, The Soul Jurnee Entertainment LLC, continues to evolve, serving as a hub for soul music lovers worldwide.
Ukiya Henson is a passionate soul music historian and media professional with a double major in Radio/TV and Africana Studies and a master’s degree in professional media management. An enthusiastic collector and researcher of Black culture—spanning Blaxploitation films, classic television, and the evolution of African American music—Ukiya’s vision is to educate, entertain, and build a community where soul music lovers can connect, learn, and share their passion.
